The Position

Exetel Sri Lanka is now looking out for a Technical Writer in further expanding its services to Australia, for designing, writing, creating, updating and maintaining of their technical documentation (viz. online help, user guides etc.) that are fully deployed online via Exe-Wiki (Wikipedia of Exetel).

Job Description
The job responsibilities of this position are as follows but not limited to:
· Gather information by self and/or coordinating with other staff viz. engineers, customer service personnel, developers, managers and Directors of Exetel
· Analyse the subject and the Audience and create documentation that is accurate, unambiguous, comprehensive and concise as far as possible
· Keep track of and maintain documentation that requires regular updates
· Skim through existing documentation at hand and suggest/provide updates or improve presentation
Essential Requirements
Please apply ONLY if you have the following:
- IT/Computer Science/Networking degree OR any other degree with ICT/Computing as a major subject
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
- Have carried out similar job responsibilities (as per JD above) for at least 1 year
- Have a good understanding of information design/architecture, producing illustrations and typography
- Exposure to HTML type markup languages and simple editing tools
- You need not be a subject matter expert but a sound knowledge in IT, Internet, Data Communication, Software, Hardware will be a distinct advantage
Remuneration
Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications but will not be less than 1.5 times of your current salary for the right candidate. Exetel offers an excellent work environment and working conditions.
